Boys' Long Jump: Ralph
Mitchell 23' 3/4" The
Coronado High School boys' long jump record has been held by Ralph Mitchell
since 1938. This is the longest-standing record on the books. Even today,
with all the applied research that has gone into long jumping, Mitchell's
jump would still be among the best in the county. That's impressive!
Here's an excellent article from the Union Tribune dated 14 May 2008. |
Triple jump and 100 meter record holder Kyle Brown has come the closest to Mitchell's 1938 mark with a 22' 10.5 mark at the 2007 Jaguar Invite. |
