In 2023 the CIF added the 4x800 meter relay to the event list to be run at league meets, the CIF championships, and the state meet.

Four Coronado Distance runners ran this event four times.
Their best time was at the league finals which they won with a time of 8:42.37.
They advanced to the Division 3 CIF finals where they placed 5th.
