CaulkPortrait.jpg (6972 bytes)Think of throwing a 12 pound chunk of iron from the pitchers mound to home plate. This is a great toss and would among the top San Diego marks in any year. Caulk set this record right here in Coronado in 1972. An all-around athlete, he ran 10.2 in the 100 yard dash, 23.0 in the 220 yard dash and 52.0 in the 440 yard dash. He was also the San Diego CIF heavyweight wrestling champion for 1972.

The record above was taken from a list of school records prepared by Sunday Durland in 1955. There appear to be gaps in the records from 1955 to 1994 so if anyone has information on records set during this period
