Boys'
Shot Put: Bob Caulk 59' 8-3/4"
Think
of throwing a 12 pound chunk of iron from the pitchers mound to home plate.
This is a great toss and would among the top San Diego marks in any year.
Caulk set this record right here in Coronado in 1972. An all-around athlete,
he ran 10.2 in the 100 yard dash, 23.0 in the 220 yard dash and 52.0 in
the 440 yard dash. He was also the San Diego CIF heavyweight wrestling
champion for 1972.
