At the 2017 Western League Cross Country Championships, Teresa Perez won the girls' race in 18:15.3 to set a new girls' course record. Her time was also the school record for the current course which has been used since 2012. In the picture to the left Teresa and Cathedral Catholic's Joaquin Martinez de Piniollos accept their awards as league champs. The two runners won titles of Western League Cross Country Athletes of the Year. Joaquin set the boys' course record in his race with a time of 15:18.7 over the same course.
