Although the start of the official cross country season is still undermined and track practices other than the "camps" set up by ISF, there are a few ways that we can get together and/or keep track with one another.

If you're new to the CC team, please fill-out the info form located here so you'll be on our contact list.

There is a Social Training Application called Strava that you can install on your phone and/or home computer to log in your training. When used with a smart watch or cell phone, it'll map your route, along with your pace and progress. Strava is free to use (there's a premium option that you don't need). I've created a "club" on Strava that most of our runners have signed on to. To join the club, first create a Strava account and join the club called "Nado Runners." The club number is 724009.
The Strava link is here: https://www.strava.com.
The direct link is to our club is: https://www.strava.com/clubs/724009

We have an AAU Youth Club called "The Coronado Milers Club." The State and San Diego CIF have allowed club participation for this season for all sports, even during the season of sport. This is a relaxation of the Green Book's articles 600 through 605 dealing with outside participation in club sports.
You can join the Coronado Milers Club here:
https://aausports.org/
This is an AAU youth Club. You need to register with the AAU ($14). During registration specify you're a member of our club.
The club Code is WYDC3F.
Once you join I'll add you to the club's contact list so you'll know when we'll have our training sessions.

There is public access to the track from 6:00 am to 10:00 am Saturday and Sunday.
Members of the club have been meeting at 8am and we'll probably continue to do so until the Cross Country starts in December.

Tuesday Track Access
Until the start of the season, we'll be having practices from 4 pm to around 5:30 pm (when the lights go out).
However, you have to register on the ISF site and it appears that this option has been closed to any new participants.

Working out on your own and new runners
There are several members of our group who are not comfortable with group workouts during this Pandemic. That's totally understandable. There are also a number of new runners who are not ready for our group training sessions.
In 1984 a great book came out called "The competitive Runner's Training Book" by Bill Dellinger and Bill Freeman. Basically it's the Oregon system for elite runners at the time it was published. It also had a great section for new and developing runners. Although it hasn't been republished for some time, I've scanned the beginner pages using OCR and uploaded them HERE.
Of course there are lots of other books on the market, but the advice in this book is solid.

Cool Down, Core, GLC
After a quality workout it's a good idea to cool down for a mile or two.
Then, on selected days, we'll do either the Gambetta Leg Circuit or Core.
Here's a 5 minute core drill from Jay Johnson called Core X.
Jay Johnson Core X

The GLC in the workouts refers to an abbreviated version of the Gambetta Leg Circuit.
You can Google Gambetta for more of his routines but we'll be doing only 3 of his exercises at first, but we'll progress.
Here is the full circuit with progressions.
Here is an example on youtube.
