The boy's DMR relay was set in 1978 at the Vista Relays with a time of 10:21. The running order was as follows:

1320: John Boyer (3:09 split)
440: Ken Kalassian
880: Greg Pratt
Mile: Rick Satterlee

Converted to today's metric Equivalent (1200, 400, 800, 3200 meters) it's around 10:17.4.
Of these four Rick Satterlee held the mile and 2-mile records for years.

The previous record was set in 1970 with a time of around 10:35 for the yards version, also set at Vista.

Carl Hemler ran the 1320
Robert Mansueto ran the 440
Tony Phillips ran the 880
Warren Racine ran the mile "no slower than 4:20"

Mansueto still holds the boys 110 hurdle record.

Racine set the half-mile (880) record in 1970 at Balboa Stadium with a time of 1:56.9.

Apparently they broke the record that was set in 1969 on which Hemler and Racine ran.
